THE (ELECTRONIC) WALL STREET RAIDER STRATEGY MANUAL IS NOW AVAILABLE The Wall Street Raider strategy manual, titled, "WALL STREET RAIDER -- THE BOOK," is now available for sale. We think you will enjoy and appreciate its thorough explanation of all the various features of W$R, as well as its numerous strategy suggestions for building your corporate empire successfully when playing this simulation. The separate "Add-on Package" version of the manual (and Customizer) is for versions 2.0 through 6.0 of W$R, which most users have at present. However, if you have an older version and order the manual, we will e-mail you, on request, a copy of an older version of the manual that goes with Version 1.0 to 1.14 features and interface, or with the Version 2.xx and higher series. (We had to re-write much of the manual, beginning with Version 2.xx, due to the new features and major overhaul of the user interface in 2.0, and again for Versions 3.xx, where we did an even greater overhaul of the interface, such as adding "streaming quotes" and search buttons on the main screen, plus, in 4.xx, new options trading buttons and displays, plus a stock charts button.)NOTE: The Manual that is for sale always is fully updated for all changes in the most current version of the W$R software, so you will never buy an outdated Manual! WE NO LONGER OFFER A PRINT VERSION OF THE MANUAL, SINCE IT BECAME OUTDATED EVERY TIME WE MODIFIED THE PROGRAM, AND PRINTING ONE COPY AT A TIME WAS NOT ECONOMICAL. The Manual (an electronic book) is now in the form of a set of HTML (hypertext) files and graphics image files, and we now also include an entire second version in Adobe .PDF file format, for easier 2-sided printing (equal to 300 pages of printed text). We provide both the HTML and PDF versions to you, since the HTML version is easier to navigate -- while the PDF version also contains hypertext links throughout, the Adobe Reader has no "back button" to return to where you were, after you have clicked on a hypertext link and jumped to another place in the book. On the other hand, we provide the PDF file primarily to facilitate your printing out the book, if you want hard copy, since the Adobe PDF file can print either odd or even pages, making it easy to do 2-sided printing -- which your web browser may not do if you print out an HTML file from your browser. When installed in the same directory or folder as your W$R files, the manual will be launched and readable from the Options Menu of W$R, which will load your web browser and display the Manual files like web pages. The first page of the HTML version contains a link that you may click on to open the .PDF file version, if you wish to do so (and if you have the free Adobe Reader installed on your computer.) REQUIREMENTS. Since this electronic book launches your web browser to load and view the chapters of the manual, you need to have an Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, installed (although you don't need to be connected to the Internet to view the manual, since the files will be on your hard disk, in the same directory as the W$R program). While you can use your browser alone to load and read "Wall Street Raider -- The Book," you will need the registered version of the W$R software, if you wish to be able to access "The Book" directly from the W$R "Options Menu," with a single click, while playing W$R. Since we provide the manual as two files, an HTML file (web page type of file, readable with browser) and an Adobe .PDF file, you will need the free Adobe Reader software if you wish to open the .PDF file and use it to print out hard copy. (You can also print the HTML file from your browser, but browsers don't usually give you the option of printing only odd- or even-numbered pages, which is necessary if you want to save paper and print on both sides. Hence, we include a .PDF file version.) If you don't have the Adobe Reader, the HTML file version of the manual contains a link on the first page to Adobe's website, where you may download (free) the Adobe Reader. INCLUSIONS. The new electronic book companion to Wall Street Raider is available for $15.00 as part of an "Add-on Package" that includes the "Customizer Utility" program. Or it can be ordered as part of a "full package" for $29.95, that also includes the Wall Street Raider software program. See the ordering options at the bottom of this page.... NO PRINTED MANUAL IS PLANNED. At this time, we are not planning to do a print version of "Wall Street Raider -- The Book." PRICE. $15.00 (U.S.). "Wall Street Raider -- The Book" is available from our online vendor, SWREG.ORG, and it includes, as part of an "Add-on Package," the Customizer Utility program that lets you customize your W$R software for your country or region. WHAT'S INCLUDED? Included with "The Book" is a copy of the Wall Street Raider "Customizer Utility" program (which can only be launched from the W$R game software program). The 565k "setup" file that you will download can, when run, automatically install the The Book and The Customizer Utility in the same folder as your Wall Street Raider files, if you already have the registered version of Wall Street Raider on your computer. While you may already have a Customizer Utility from an older version of W$R, the Customizer was improved considerably in Version 2.45, to allow you to restore the original set of company names/stock symbols if you wish to go back to that original data set, after having made "permanent" changes to the names and symbols.
